“With Travel Agency Nika Spalinger has developed a very simple but equally efficient method for exchanging and communicating experiences through the medium of image – the basis of visual art – across cultures. A journey with Travel Agency is always a joint project in which usually two, sometimes several people are involved and in which narration and visualization intersect. The artist sees her contribution to this joint project in providing a imaginary and communication space. What emerges are not mature works of art, but rather lively, direct narratives and sketches, imaginations of the unknown, suggesting what is known and holding the mirror to travelers and traveled alike.”
